What's included
Not sure how often to come in? Our guide to how often to work with a personal trainer walks through the trade-offs, and what personal training costs on the Upper West Side explains how the pricing works.

Who it's for
Every program is individual, but certain goals come up often enough that we've written about them in depth.
Many of our clients pick up a barbell for the first time in their 50s, 60s or later. Programming is built around what you want to keep doing — stairs, travel, tennis, grandchildren — and progressed at a pace that respects your history. Balance, mobility and bone-loading work sit alongside the strength training.
Learn about Personal Training Over 50Muscle and bone respond to load at every age, and the returns compound over decades rather than weeks. We program progressive resistance training you can sustain — sensible loads, honest progression, and a schedule that survives a busy season.
Learn about Strength & LongevityIf your weeks already revolve around Central Park loops and Greenway long runs, the strength work has to fit around the mileage rather than fight it. We program single-leg, posterior chain and trunk strength, and adjust volume as your block builds toward race day.
Learn about Strength Training for RunnersIf you know you should be strength training but have no interest in guessing your way through a crowded gym floor, this is the place to start. You learn a handful of movement patterns properly, in a private room, with a coach who tells you exactly what to do next.
Learn about Beginner Strength TrainingTraining through pregnancy and back afterwards asks for a program that changes as you do. Our coaches adjust week to week, keeping what still feels good and modifying what does not, in coordination with the guidance you are getting from your medical team.
Learn about Prenatal & PostpartumComing back from an injury, a surgery, or simply a long pause. We start where you are and build from there.
Train with a partner or spouse in the same session — the same individual attention, split between two people.

About DanielStrength, balance & joint comfort
"I've been training with Katelyn for a few months, and have been thrilled to see improvements in strength, balance and reduced joint pain — all areas I needed to address. She's a terrific coach, with a great attitude and positive energy."
Started strength training later in life
"Everything I've read about longevity points to the importance of weight training, so I decided to give it a try… now I'm completely hooked. Emily is lovely, inspiring, and an incredibly skilled teacher. The gym itself is inclusive, positive, and genuinely welcoming — every body truly feels at home here."
The private gym environment
"After working out with Carolyn for many years, I just had my first session at the new PWR NYC studio. Quiet and clean, it enhances the personalized service that Carolyn delivers. PWR NYC has more equipment than large national gyms that I have worked out in."
